Two representatives from the Seychelles Football Federation recently participated in a three-day Women’s Football Administrators and Leadership Workshop organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA).

Representing Seychelles at the regional workshop were Dr Carol Nalletamby, Chairperson of the Women’s Football Committee, and Vesna Cesar, Team Manager of the Women’s National Teams. The programme brought together women leaders from across the region with the aim of strengthening leadership capacity and supporting the continued development of women in football administration.

Strengthening Leadership in Women’s Football

The workshop focused on equipping participants with leadership and management skills necessary to support the growth of the women’s game within their respective football associations. Key discussions centred around governance, strategic leadership, effective communication, and building sustainable structures to support women’s football.

Participants also had the opportunity to share experiences, challenges, and best practices from their respective countries, creating a collaborative environment where knowledge and ideas could be exchanged.

For Seychelles, the workshop provided valuable insights into how strong leadership and administration can directly influence the development of women’s football both on and off the field.

Collaboration for Regional Growth

A key element of the workshop was fostering stronger collaboration among football administrators within the COSAFA region. By bringing together women leaders from different associations, the programme encouraged networking, mentorship, and the sharing of innovative approaches to advancing the women’s game.

These connections play an important role in strengthening regional cooperation and supporting collective progress in women’s football development.

Turning Knowledge into Action

Following the workshop, both Dr Nalletamby and Cesar will look to translate the knowledge gained into practical initiatives that support the continued growth of women’s football in Seychelles.

Their participation reflects the commitment of the Seychelles Football Federation to developing strong leadership structures within the women’s game and ensuring that administrators are equipped with the tools and knowledge required to drive sustainable progress.

As women’s football continues to grow in Seychelles, investing in leadership, governance, and collaboration remains essential in building a stronger and more inclusive football ecosystem for the future.
