The Seychelles U17 Girls’ National Football Team wrapped up their campaign at the CJSOI Games 2025 with a courageous performance in their final match against Mayotte, held on 6 August at the SFF Astro Turf. Despite a valiant effort, the team narrowly lost 3–2, taking home a well-deserved silver medal for the host nation.

It was a gripping contest that reflected the growth and fighting spirit of the young Seychellois side throughout the tournament. Captain Keisha Moustache rose to the occasion once again, scoring both goals for Seychelles and showing incredible leadership and determination on the pitch. Her presence in midfield and attacking transitions gave the team momentum in key moments, keeping the home crowd energised until the final whistle.

The girls entered the match with confidence after their opening 1–0 win over Mauritius, and it was clear from the first whistle that they were prepared to give everything. But Mayotte, who had also shown strength throughout the tournament, came out with intensity and took their chances when it mattered most.

Despite trailing at times, the Seychelles team never backed down. Their commitment, teamwork, and belief were on full display, even as they chased the game in the final moments. Every player gave her all, with standout performances across the pitch—from the solid saves of Dinara Julie in goal to the relentless defending and tactical discipline shown by the entire squad.

The final result may have been a narrow defeat, but it cannot overshadow the achievement these young players have accomplished: earning silver on home soil, inspiring future generations of girls, and putting Seychelles women’s football firmly on the regional map.

This tournament has not only shown the technical progress of the team, but also their character, unity, and resilience. As the final whistle blew, there were tears but also pride. Pride in how far they’ve come, and excitement for where they’re going next.

Thank you to the players, coaches, support staff, and everyone who stood behind this team. You’ve made the nation proud.

Congratulations, Seychelles U17 Girls. The silver is yours, but your spirit is pure gold. 🇸🇨
