Speaking at the ceremony, President Ramkalawan praised the athletes for their discipline, determination, and the pride they brought to the nation.

Head Coach Chris Yip-Au expressed pride in the team’s journey and the role it plays in the growth of the sport:

“This silver medal is more than an achievement on the field. It is proof of how far women’s football in Seychelles has come. The girls showed resilience, teamwork, and spirit, and they have set the foundation for an even brighter future.”

The Seychelles Football Federation also extended thanks to the coaching staff, medical team, supporters, and senior women’s national team players, whose guidance and encouragement were vital to the U17s’ progress.

As the young athletes celebrated their recognition at State House, attention now turns to sustaining the momentum.
