With flags waving and hearts full of pride, the nation came together on 29 July 2025 at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS) to officially send off its U17 girls’ and boys’ athletes ahead of the CJSOI Games, which will take place from 1st to 10th August 2025 on home soil.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of President Wavel Ramkalawan, who delivered an inspiring message to the players and coaches, urging them to compete with determination and dignity.
Also present was the Minister for Youth, Sports and Family, Marie-Céline Zialor, who applauded the months of preparation put in by both teams and encouraged the players to carry the values of discipline, unity, and sportsmanship with them throughout the tournament.
Representatives from the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF), including Executive Committee Member Carol Natellamby and Head of Women’s Football and U17 Girls’ Coach, Chris Yip-Au, reflected on the teams’ journeys and growing aspirations.
“These girls have trained with passion, purpose, and persistence,” said Coach Yip-Au. “Hosting the tournament at home is an incredible opportunity—and one we intend to rise to with pride and strength.”
The event was filled with emotion, national pride, and a sense of unity as players received symbolic blessings and the national flag ahead of kick-off day.
