The FIFA Women’s Football Coaches Workshop, held from 4 to 6 September at the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) Auditorium, brought together dedicated coaches from across the region. In total, there were 26 participants which included coaches involved in the Seychelles School Premier League, primary and secondary school teachers, women’s youth selection coaches and some of our very own women’s national team players.
This three-day workshop focused on advancing the skills, knowledge, and methodologies essential for the development of women’s football in Seychelles.
Through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and discussions led by FIFA instructors, Sue Ronan (Ireland) and Thuba Sibanda (Zimbabwe/Namibia), participants gained valuable insights into modern coaching techniques, player development pathways, and tactical approaches specific to women’s football. The event underscored the importance of empowering local coaches as key drivers in growing the women’s game at all levels, from grassroots to elite competition.
As a part of the FIFA Women’s League Development Program, this workshop marked a significant step forward in promoting gender equality and fostering the next generation of female football talent in Seychelles.
Following the workshop, the Seychelles Women’s League was officially launched on 7 September where we unveiled the league logo and kickstarted the season.
